okay so believe it or not i was a cheerleader all in high school and before that i was a cheerleader for rec and i also did a all star team but i can still remember now matter what in order to cheer on the side lines for the football or to win a competition we always had to worm together as a team and always keeping in mind just because someone is new or someone else is better at a certain thing doesn't mean their is a star of the team.
One of my greatest memories from cheerleading takes place awhile ago when i was in 7th grade during this time i was cheerleading for the middle river renegades which at the time was a very very good team that wasnt use to getting anything but first place it. We were our 3rd competition of the season which was called spirit bowl we had an amazing routine and we knew we would be placing in the top three but then.. half the team didnt show up
This was because one of the stupid coaches decided to call half the team and tell them not to come to the competition because her daughter was sick and was unable to make it. well she failed to inform the head coach of this and was later fired but that's besides the point normally there was 22 girls on my team and only 12 showed up but in that 30 minutes before we went up on the mat we manage to pull it together redo out routine and still come in 4th place out of 12 teams(:
As crazy as it may sound ever since i was in 5th grade I've always loved little kids. Which is why the career i am interested in is to be a pre-school teacher.
As of right now i currently have a job at St Lukes Pre-school. i am a aid in the class room. I really enjoy working here because i did a internship there last year and had a great mentor that helped me get my 90 hour certification to be a aid in the class room during my senior year of high school. I believe the purpose of this work is to prepare children for grade school so when they start they already have a feel for the class room and it isn't a huge adjustment.I really do believe that children that go to Pre-school really do benefit from it and you can tell the difference between ones that have been in the school setting compared to ones that haven't been.Parents can also benefit from this because instead of dropping there children off at a daycare and paying extremely high prices Pre-school is normally cheaper and offers more than just playing and taking naps all day.
My mentor Sharon Winter really did inspire me to work with children when i first started my internship there last year i really didn't want to work with children for the rest of my life but my senior year there was so much fun i knew there was no other place i would want to be. So a week ago when i found out a aid there had quit i was extremely happy to take the job, and i honestly wouldn't want to be anywhere else (:
I went to private school for nine years and i loved every second of it. This is probably something you dont hear very often but the whole time i was in private school i never hated my parents for putting me there, or wished i could have been like the normal kids and went to public school.
This is pretty much where my education started good old our lady of hope i loved how small it was i loved that i knew every person that worked there and they knew me i loved that i had stayed with the same group of kids for nine years i even loved the uniform there was only one problem our lady of hope stopped at grade eight.
Which left me attending this lovely Baltimore county school Sparrows Point. my first day was..welll rough i felt alone like i had no one to talk to and even if someone did talk to me i didn't know what to say to them i had no idea how to talk to kids that werent from private school because in my mind i felt like they werent good enough to be my friend. My second day of school i made the mistake of telling a girl " you dress so nice for a girl who lives in north point village" needless to say me and her did not hit it and i was soon taking lessons on how to talk to people.
I had a very hard time dealing with the separation from our lady of hope i went from being the girl that knew every in and out of a school to the weird snobby private school girl and it wasnt until about my 10th grade year that i learned the right social skills, i learned the ins and outs of the school and i learned how to be a normal teenager.
i can almost relate my experience to a knock off version of mean girls.
After CCBC I plan on going to Goucher it is a small school that has a lot of females and is in a nice city setting and it isn't very far away from home. I feel like this school is a good fit for me because it is smaller and i think a big school would be overwhelming i also feel like since there are not a lot of guys there i will be able to focus on school work more and since it is close to home it won't be a huge transition because i will still be able to live at home.I also feel like the transition from ccbc to this four year college will not be as hard because i will kind of know what to expect rather than coming from straight out of high school.
So what do they do ? They buy them lots of junky toys so they can give their child that brief five minutes of happiness.
This product is marketed to children because it might just look like a typical barbie but its SO much more.Bettys hair doesnt get all knotty like a barbie dolls and Bettys clothes are so much easier to change. They use very bright colors to first attract childrens attention, they also show other little girls playing with the doll so i believe this product is more marketed to little girls then boys because at age ten boys are playing with cars and power rangers ( hopefully). They also use the catch phrase " she comes apart but shes so together" now at age ten im not really sure what that means but i want that!
I think they use three different appeals in this advertisement the first one being you will join a wonderful group of people by showing other little girls playing with the doll. They also use being rewarded and finding satisfaction now as adults i dont think these would apply but as a child most of the time one of the first things a parent will say to their child to make them shut up is if your good you get a toy and if this advertisement happen to come in within the past coupld day im going to go with the child will probably want this, and when the child does play with this they will have their own odd type of satisfaction.
For the most part this commerical is realistic they just dont mention that once you have the doll all dressed up and ready to play with that her arm will fall off and youll have to put it back on ....and then her leg ...and then her shoes ect... and all those wonderful knots you tied in bettys hair to put all the beads in hair are probably going to come undone in about two minutes.
Marketers want you to believe this is better then barbie that this is the new doll that you must have. They want you to believe that every other little girl is playing with this doll and if your not then clearly there must be something wrong with you.Bettys in and Barbie is out
My mom always tells me that shes never met a ugly Brooke and till this day i believe that to be very true. My name is Brooke Giangrasso and I am very pleased with my name. While my mother was pregnant with me she went through a huge list of names, but finally as she was in the last hours of labor with me her favorite soap opera came on and a character on there inspired her to name me Brooke. The name Brooke first got popular in the 1950s because of Brooke Astor who is philanthropist and was a huge socialite during the 1950s.
As a child I never liked my first or last name, I didnt like Brooke because in the first grade when we learned syllables mine only had one so i only got one clap when they did my name. I didnt like my last name because it was Young and I was always at the back of the line, but when I was eight I got my last name changed to Giangrasso.
Giangrasso is Italian, im not sure what it means but I do know some history on the name. When my ancestors first came over to American thier last name were Giangrosso however they did not speak english very well. Each one pronouced Giangrosso differently when they were giving people their first and last name, because of this I have family members that have a different spelling of the name Giangrosso. Mine thankfull was spelt with an A instead of an o.
I believe this name has grown is popularity because of how many celebrities have the name now such Brooke Burns,Brooke Hogan, and Brooke Sheilds. I also think people may like the name Brooke because of its meaning which is "a small natural stream of fresh water".
